Hozelock Cyprio has launched a supercharged 9000 litre version of its popular all-in-one EasyClear clearwater, fountain and waterfall pump for novice pondkeepers. At the same time, new and much improved versions of the original EasyClear 3000 and 6000 models have been unveiled, featuring higher wattage UVC bulbs, reduced power consumption, added Kaldnes biomedia and the option to run either a fountain or waterfall from the entry level model.

Since its launch in 2004, the EasyClear has proved to be a phenomenally successful package, combining all the devices required to make a healthy, decorative pond in a single sleek, low profile casing and with just one power cable.

The new EasyClear 9000 is just as easy to install in larger ponds of up to 9000 litres. It combines into a single unit a powerful filtration system, UV clarifier with 13W bulb and a dual-function fountain and waterfall pump which can deliver a fountain up to 1.9m high. A new ultra-efficient motor consumes only 55W of power and yet delivers a maximum flow rate of 2850LPH, making this device very economical to run.

For ponds of up to 6000 litres, the new EasyClear 6000 is a smaller scale version of the EasyClear 9000. It has an upgraded 9W UV bulb and gives a maximum flow of 1700LPH to a 1.6m high fountain and/or a waterfall on a modest power consumption of 40W.

The new entry-level EasyClear 3000 can now be used to drive either a fountain, up to 0.7m high, or a waterfall (its predecessor offered a fountain only). Consuming only 25W of power, it delivers a maximum flow rate of 1260LPH and comes with an upgraded 5W UVC.

For maximum ease of use, all three models feature dedicated, independent flow control adjustment of both fountain and waterfall features. The supplied interchangeable 2-tier, 3-tier and bell fountainheads give a choice of fountain water patterns and effects.

Triple filtration

All of the new models come with a Clearwater guarantee and three separate filtration processes built in: foam filters to remove suspended particles; a bed of superior Kaldnes biomedia with a high surface area to promote the growth of colonies of beneficial bacteria to break down pollutants; and a single-ended ultra-violet lamp, contained in a quartz tube, to eliminate green water algae.

Hozelock Cyprio's designers have gone to great lengths to minimise the maintenance needs of the EasyClear, including the provision of a large anti-clog strainer casing. When maintenance is eventually required, access to the

foam filter is via a lid that is held in place by easy-release latches while a simple bayonet twist of the UV cover will reveal the lamp. A translucent UVC indicator shows at a glance that the lamp is operating. Should the filter foam become blocked, a bypass valve allows the pond water to continue circulating to the fountain and UVC.
