Biorb launches Life collection
 

Design-led fish tank manufacturer Biorb launched the Biorb Life collection at Interzoo in Nuremburg, Germany last week. The acrylic fish tanks, which will be available in the UK in September, feature a block-colour surround and large, curved rectangular viewing windows. The fish tanks are available in red, white and black and are aimed at the home interiors market.

The Biorb Life fish tanks are available in 30l, 45l and 60l sizes and the retail prices are £200 to about £275 depending on the size that you go for, though prices are yet to be confirmed. Matching stands, which conceal the tank’s transformer and filter system, are also available and are expected to retail at about £100.

An LED in the feeding hatch cycles through different light conditions to mimic day and night and give fish a natural living environment and the tank features Biorb’s five-stage biological, mechanical and chemical filtration system, which keeps the fish tank clean and the water conditions healthy for fish for up to eight weeks between filter cartridge changes.

A collection of contemporary aquarium accessories were also introduced at the show. The ornaments, designed by artist Samuel Baker, are an attempt to move away from traditional aquarium figures and include coral, shell and pebble sculptures.

Biorb Life is the latest addition to the Biorb range, which includes Biube, a cylindrical fish tank, Spyorb, an opaque globe with a viewing window and Baby Biorb, a smaller, 15l version of the original globe-shaped tank. Biorb products are manufactured by aquatics specialist Reef One.
